Outdoor Learning & The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

All children and young people in South Ayrshire can enjoy physical activity and outdoor learning, whether within their school grounds, local green spaces, the wider countryside or in wilder environments. Such experiences will inspire and motivate our children and young people, improving their health and wellbeing.

We are fortunate to be able to offer residential experiences at our Outdoor Centre, Dolphin House, and though the large number of expeditions offered by schools participating in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Residential visits offer a unique form of intensive experience which encourages children and young people to engage with staff and peers at a deeper level and build relationships.
