Alloway Primary

Leadership

Both P7 classes have completed their JCA award. They will be putting their leadership and coaching skills into practice by leading a lunchtime club for the P1’s.

Successes

Last year at Alloway we had 77% of the school role participating in extracurricular clubs, this year we are working to increase this. We also had a team this term attend the sportshall Athletics competition where they did very well and our netball and football teams are
regularly attending matches throughout the authority.

Pathways

The school aims to create strong links with local sports clubs to develop pathways for pupils to attend their sessions.

They are very fortunate to have many locals club coaches come into the school to work with the children and staff. The school is currently received support and coaching from Ayr Rugby Football Club, Ayr Lawn Tennis Club, Ayr United Football Club and Ayr Seaforth Athletics Club.

We also are lucky enough to receive support from Belmont Academy in supplying Sports Leaders and Coaching Academy pupils to deliver extra-curricular clubs.
