Doonfoot Primary School

Volunteering

Mrs Christie from Alloway Performing Arts worked with P1-7 in preparation for the Dance Competition in December. Everyone loved strutting their stuff!

Mrs Gillespie leads our Girls Football Team who meet every Tuesday night! The girls recently took part in an Active Schools football tournament at Ayr Academy and had a great time!

Mr Robb our Janitor is Head Coach of our School football team and gives up his spare time to run training sessions every Friday after school – what a champ!

Leadership

P7W and P7A have recently completed their Junior Coaching Award and are putting it to good use by leading a Multi Sports Lunchtime Club for Primary 1 pupils.

Mrs Gray and the 5 members of the Sports Council meet every fortnight to discuss and plan how they can improve PE and Sport within Doonfoot Primary. So far this term, they have helped to organise the PE Cupboard, distribute and monitor Playground Resources and talk confidently about initiatives to the whole school during Assemblies etc.

UWS Students have been working with P5LB and P7W to help develop Ball Skills through Basketball sessions. Ex Pupil, Jordan Law led a Ball Skills Club for P2 pupil’s afterschool which was a great success!
