Girvan Primary School
Girvan Primary has a school roll of over 350 pupils and is situated Girvan.
In 2015/16 pupils participated in a range of extracurricular clubs such as tennis, badminton, athletics and football.
Junior Coaching Academy
All P7 pupils at Girvan Primary have the opportunity to participate in the Junior Coach Academy and help out in the playground at break and lunchtime.
JCA teaches pupils the skills needed to be sports coaches, pupils are then supported to deliver their own lunch clubs for younger children.
Girvan Primary has strong links with Turnberry Golf Club who provide weekly afterschool clubs for the P5-7 pupils.
They also have a strong link with Prestwick Tennis Centre who provide weekly extracurricular tennis sessions for all P1-7 pupils within the Girvan Cluster.
Girvan Primary also host the Girls Football Cluster club which is run by a Parent, 2 students and a senior pupil on a Thursday from 4-5pm.
They also use the Quayzone facility in Girvan for their swimming lessons throughout the year.
Competitions and Festivals
Girvan Primary participate in the Competitive School Sort Calendar. Taking part in: Badminton, Tennis and Golf festivals last year.
Mrs Allan took a team to compete in the first Sportshall Athletics competition to be held in South Ayrshire. The school won the South Ayrshire Heat & will represented South Ayrshire at the regional qualifier.
Parents, Carol Wilson and Enrica Clark, deliver football to all P4-7 girls within the cluster on a Thursday night at Victory Park.
Around 30 girls attend each session and the two parent volunteers are now supported by two Young Leaders from Girvan Academy.
