Volunteering

Mrs McConnell continues to take the netball team on a Tuesday after school. They will take part in the netball league from Jan – March and the South Ayrshire competition in May.

Mr McIntyre is a parent who takes the football training for P5-7 on a Friday after school.

Lauren a sports student from the University of the West of Scotland will be delivering a variety of lunch and after school clubs on a Monday. During her time volunteering she will be working with the P6&7 classes during their PE time.

Leadership

The P7 class have taken part in the Junior Coaching Academy training programme, which is aimed at giving the pupils leadership skills in sport. The pupils will be involved in helping out at clubs in the New Year.

Pathways

Symington has good links with Prestwick Tennis Centre who delivered taster sessions for P1&2 pupils. Outdoor sessions are usually delivered from April – June for all primary ages.

P6 pupils attend indoor bowling sessions at Ambassador Bowling club in Prestwick. Each class gets 2 taster sessions where the pupils get the opportunity to try bowls.

P6 pupils will also be attending a taster session at Ayr Ice Rink where the pupils will receive a curling taster session.
